The MCGS has a number of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) that are focused on specific areas of genealogical research. Their names, meeting places, and contact information are listed below. Meeting dates can also be found on the Events page. These groups are are open to anyone but membership in the society is encouraged.

Cemetery Special Interest Group
The first meeting TBD
Our newest group will focus on cemeteries, there are almost 300 cemeteries in Monmouth County. This group will provide diversified and educational meetings including personal stories, written material and speakers. Research tips, sources, burial traditions and practices will be part of the discussion. Information learned here can be applied to researching cemeteries in any part of the country. Members may assist with organizing cemetery clean up, preservation and acknowledgement in the local community of the historical significance of cemeteries.
